PRESENTATION TO UNESCO HEADQUARTERS IN PARIS OF THE APPLICATION: THE NATIVITY SCENE FROM ITS ORIGINS TO ITS CULTURAL TRADITION AND THE ART OF ITS CREATION

International Nativity Scene Making has taken a significant step toward its goal of being inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

On March 24, 2026, the ambassadors of Italy, Spain, and Paraguay presented the application to UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

The International Federation UN-FOE-PRAE, together with the Presidium, other associations, and technical staff from the ministries of these three countries, have worked intensively to make this application a reality.

In the coming months, the application will be evaluated by the UNESCO body responsible for determining whether the dossier meets the required criteria.
