Antonio Pigozzi

Antonio Pigozzi lives in Gazzano di Villa Minozzo (Reggio Emilia), where he was born on September 13, 1955. He retains the simplicity and humility of the mountain people of yesteryear, as well as a sort of perpetual childlike innocence of mind and heart that allows him, even today—after more than thirty years—to devote himself to the art of nativity scenes and to approach the magic of Christmas with a fresh spirit. His works can be found in major European exhibitions. Pigozzi can now, with good reason, be considered one of the leading nativity scene artists on the international stage. Today, Antonio, together with his collaborators, has revitalized the permanent exhibition in Gazzano, curates solo exhibitions throughout Italy and Europe, conducts workshops on nativity scene creation, and serves as deputy director of the “Voci nel Vento” choir in Fontanaluccia. In 2019, Pigozzi received the highest honor in the field of nativity scene art during the 21st UN.FOE.PRAE International Congress in Aachen.
